<p>Dr. Zainab Humayun is a trainee Medical Doctor from Pakistan. Her career in obstetrics and gynecology has allowed Zainab to follow her passion for helping people, and it’s also taking her overseas. We caught up with Zainab to learn about her career, including what she finds the most rewarding, and discuss her plans to take her skills to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).</p>

<p>Hello. My name is Dr. Zainab Humayun, and I’m a trainee Medical Doctor from Karachi, Pakistan. I’ve worked in obstetrics and gynecology for the past four years and have recently started to explore opportunities to work abroad. </p>

<h2>Why did you pursue a career in healthcare? </h2>
<p>My passion and life aim are to serve people, and healthcare is a career path that allows me to do that. </p>
<h2>What are you training to do in your obstetrics and gynecology role? </h2>
<p>Gynecologist obstetricians specialize in female reproductive health, childbirth, and pregnancy. The role is varied, and I get to learn how to; </p>
<ul>
<li>Provide preventive care and screenings such as routine gynecologist examinations, pap smears, breast examinations, and counseling on birth control options. </li>
<li>Diagnose and treat gynecological conditions, including fibroids, endometriosis, and polycystic ovary syndrome. </li>
<li>Provide prenatal and postnatal care. </li>
<li>Perform surgeries related to gynecology and obstetrics. </li>

<h2>What do you find the most rewarding about being a Medical Doctor? </h2>
<p>Being a gynecologist can be rewarding because it allows me to help women experiencing health issues related to the reproductive system at different stages of their life. It also allows me to form long-term relationships with my patients and positively impact their health and well-being. </p>
<h2>What do you hope for your healthcare career? </h2>
<p>Right now, all my focus is on applying for jobs in Dubai. I would love to take my career to the UAE and gain international exposure. I think it will be a good career boost. </p>
