The resolution <a href="https://apps.who.int/gb/ebwha/pdf_files/WHA72/A72_R6-en.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">WHA72.6</a> was created during the 72nd World Health Assembly to “<a href="https://www.who.int/news-room/events/detail/2021/09/17/default-calendar/world-patient-safety-day-2021" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">enhance global understanding of patient safety, increase public engagement in the safety of health care and promote global actions to “enhance patient safety and reduce patient harm</a>”. </p>
<p><a href="https://www.who.int/news-room/fact-sheets/detail/patient-safety" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Patient Safety</a>, according to WHO, “aims to prevent and reduce risks, errors and harm that occur to patients during provision of health care”. This year’s theme is “<strong>Safe maternal and newborn care</strong>” where WHO urges all stakeholders to “<strong>Act now for safe and respectful childbirth!</strong>” </p>
